BEHIND THE LENS

The Vision
I first tried surfing when I joined a startup in Lisbon with weekly lessons with actual surf teachers. No way I was passing that up. Things didn't really go exactly as planned — I broke my toe during the very second lesson.
A couple months later, some friends and I were talking about a surf trip to Morocoo, so I tought I could try bodyboarding out. I stuck with it, eventually travelled to Bali where I saw photographers capturing the surfers out that day. It was such a simple, great idea, and it seemed like something I could bring to our shores.
I’ve always found it hard to get pictures of myself surfing. It’s usually too expensive to hire a professional, and most of the time it just doesn’t feel worth it. That’s why I started Wave of the Day. I want to be able to offer photos that everyone can afford, finally making the camera I’ve held since I was 14 a bigger part of my life.
